Bagepalli (Chikkaballapur district), Mar 18, 2012, DHNS :
Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda is being singled out since he belongs to the Vokkaliga community, according to Balagangadharanatha seer of Adichunchanagiri Mutt.
“A conspiracy is being hatched to unseat Sadananda Gowda solely because he is a Vokkaliga. No one is tolerating a Vokkaliga at the helm of affairs,” the seer said here on Sunday.
The seer, who laid the foundation stone for BGS Vokkaliga hostel in the town, said attempts were being made to unseat Gowda for “political and egoistic” ends and the chief minister had been suffering like an injured fish in water.
The seer alleged that Vokkaliga officials too were being targeted by not allowing them to work peacefully at a single place.
Meanwhile, Sadananda Gowda visited the Siddaganga Mutt in Tumkur to seek the blessings of the seer on his 59th birthday. The seer did not react to the statements of the chief minister.
Speaking to reporters, Gowda said the State budget had been finalised and copies sent for printing. However, he refused to comment on the recent conduct of his predecessor, B S Yeddyurappa.
“It is quite normal for supporters to felicitate their leaders. The issue need not be blown out of proportion,” he added.
Gowda said meetings had been held to devise a strategy for the Rajya Sabha polls and the party would be bound by the decision of the central leadership
